Even though I have only spoken to Lee on air a handful of times I too was shocked to learn last night of this news, he was a great radio tech & myself & my fellow Amateurs have reaped the benefits of his work setting up a first class linked repeater system.

He will be sorely missed.

All Apple stores use the DTR2450. They are the largest user of these radios in Australia. I can get you are price if you would like? A fellow member of this forum gus289 told me this morning he checked out the Apple store the other day & they had two security guards on duty who had Motorola 2.4ghz digital portables on them. I did a google on these 2.4Ghz radio's & they are licence free & very secure, doing digital/spread spectrum...

There is a Apple store opening in Penrith Westfield tomorrow morning at 9am, people are expected to be sleeping outside their doors from late this afternoon... Anyone out & about or living around the Penrith metro area tonight through till tomorrow morning might want to keep the Westyfield channels ...

hi michael which would be the best repeater to call you on? The 439.750 /91.5 tone, which is at Horsely Park & linked to 439.800/91.5 which is located in Sydney, I am on there almost every morning from about 7am, we get quite a net going some mornings, the record is 10 I think, already had Kev VK2K...

Thats very interesting Michael, I wasn't aware of the RX at Kurrajong. I did a test and i can trigger the Rpt from home (line of site to Kurrajong and only about 5Kms from the towers) with the H/H and 1/2 watt.
