Re: NSW POLICE HANDBOOK August 2013

they have lots of juicy documentation on their website, even a document I was given that explains in detail the elusive professional suitability that police recruitment can use to tell people they cannot join even if they are 100% clear and have no convictions or no negative contact with police.

Re: NSW SES Profile V1

Zone 2 in the SES radios is an Empty Zone therefore I didn't feel the need to post it. ~ Don't know what the SES tech creating that profile was thinking ~ From memory I believe Zone 2 has ACTSES talkgroups for liaison, but only in Southern Highlands' radios? Andrew I can confirm Zone2 is a blank zo...

freedom of speech does not exist with our employer . . . JAFO if anyone doesn't believe you I know first hand that care needs to be taken if you are employed by one of these agencies... it might not bite you as described, but you can have a whole heap of aggravation come down on you. It is not fun ...

Re: Wagga + P25

I've had a couple of mixed messages from the Albury Region the past couple of weeks about Police in the area disappearing off air. Sounds like the switch may have occurred down there Can confirm that Grant, the albury cops have gone digital as i had the guys at my work asking me what they need to d...

Re: Police to take on Railway Security Role - Attempt 2

Re: Police to take on Railway Security Role - Attempt 2

The positive aspect of having a dedicated railway police agency (as opposed to state police assigned to transit duties) is that all your primary duties relate to the railway or transit system, therefore you become a specialist in that field and are able to see and detect things that the ordinary po...

Re: Gosford RFS going P25 PMR

Thanks for confirming that. I also thought it was a very strange time to do it! Interesting about the voting issue, from listening it sounds like the radios Home button goes to the GRN channel, no longer the PMR. And in Gosfords case GRN is not patched through to the PMR a few calls have gone unans...

Re: Using handheld radio while driving

Does anyone know if there is any law against using a handheld radio while driving? With the new laws out on holding a mobile phone while driving I wondered if the police would consider it unsafe also? With some portable handhelds nearly as small as a mobile phone you could be mistaken for having a ...
