Re: Learjet calling mayday over Nowra

Sounds like a landing gear issue... FRESCO 42 Have only very quickly scanned the LiveATC archives for Nowra, but the gist is below - you can listen for yourselves for the outcome :-) The choppers were using NVGs to check the landing gear on the lear Archive [1] 06:55 - Cleared for takeoff 08:00 - Ta...

Re: Military Monitoring

Forgot to mention 129.650 AM in Canberra - 34SQN "SPA Ops" - VIP fleet at RAAF Fairbairn. Generally ETA and parking instructions, but occasionally some interesting comms. Agree with you on the Lears - just last week they were busy off the coast with a major excersise, they were advising Melbourne th...

Re: Updated Digital Listing

In saying that, a quick search of ACT identifies numerous active frequencies in use not listed on ACMA database. Almost all are commercial business. Some are enc so unknown who they are. Analysing some unlisted frequencies indicate multiple frequencies for that site (wherever that is). Some unliste...

Re: Military Airband - P25

The rebroadcast between 398MHz and airband at military airfields is generally the SMCV (Surface Movement Control Vehicles) frequency... in civi terms 'Ground'. This means only the standard radio install ( 'grey brick' when I got out) and not a full airband install needs to be done for vehicles acces...

Re: Time to trim the membership list

Looks like aurfscan has gone belly up ... the ISP is showing "Account suspended". No great loss for scanning, as it was devoid of anything useful And aussiescanners is showing 403 and 404 messages today, though it might be temporary PS Just seen some posts on Vicradionet saying the same thing ... I...

Moved back to NSW - are the lists up to date?

Hi everyone,I've moved back to NSW (ACT region) after spending the last 5 years up in the Red Center... In the process of re-programming my radios (lots of silence to listen to in central NT :? ) Are the 'latest' radio profiles posted on this site for ASNSW/RFS/SES still current? They look a bit old...

Re: ADS-B

ADS-B is totally different to ACARS: - ACARS is used by commercial airlines to pass various data back to their ops regarding the flight and pax. ACARS works primarily on VHF, although there is also HF ACARS out there. - ADS-B is used by ATC to track aircraft - it supplements the existing Secondary R...
