ACMA List of Sydney area amateur repeaters

Postby cartman » Fri Sep 24, 2010 4:14 am

This is a list of Sydney amateur repeaters that i have compiled from the ACMA database.
It is not a NSW list but just something I put together for monitoring purposes for my western Sydney locale.
Would appreciate any updates from VKers as to what is now P25 or dual P25/FM repeater.

Found these while doing a search

Hytera has grown to be a leading solution provider & system integrator with your efforts. More & more customers are interested in Hytera's applications of various industries across the world. Today we are very glad to share the case of MSS Security, which choose Hytera DMR solution in 2011.

Hytera DMR solution successfully deployed in the Greenest Building in Sydney, 2011. This is the second time that MSS Secuirity chose our digital solution for its business security. This time MSS select DMR solution of PD785, MD785 and RD985. The details are as follows.

Greenest Building Exterior Greenest Building Inside Application On-Spot
Background
With a Corporate mission of Protection, Passion & Peace of Mind, MSS Security is Australia's largest security company with more than 4,500 employees, approximately $300 million in turnover, and a national infrastructure with offices in the capital cities of all states and territories. By providing a full range of security services across all market segments MSS Security provides a visible security presence, demonstrating a broad range of skills from general guarding to highly specialised security roles.
Challenge

Radio Communications have always played and important and in many instances critical part in the role of MSS providing security services to its clients. MSS staff has used a variety of Analogue two way radios systems and they are well aware of the limitations of Analogue radio systems with poor and inconsistent radio communications at the fringes of coverage and issues with battery life.

After deploying a Hytera Digital Mobile Radio system at Governor Philip Tower in Sydney CBD, where previous issues with Analogue radios were proven to be overcomed, MSS Management decided to deploy the same Hytera digital radios when they were awarded the security contact at the very high profile and Sydney's greenest office high-rise, No 1 Blight Street Sydney.

Solution

The main requirement for radio communications for No 1 Blight St Sydney was to provide clear and reliable communications throughout the unique building. A site radio coverage survey was undertaken for MSS by Combined Communications, the distributor of Hytera DMR radios in Australia and it was found that the vast majority of the building was covered by simplex, radio to radio coverage.

In order to meet the requirements of total coverage of the unique building and maintain the building esthetics, it was decided to place a Hytera DMR Repeater Base Station in the building basement area and run coaxial cable up to ground levels to provide complete radio coverage wherever MSS and their clients staff operated within the building and its surrounding precinct .

Benefits

The Hytera Digital Mobile Radio solution deployed at No1 Blight Street, Sydney was simple and costs effective and provided MSS staff with reliable and crystal clear radio communications throughout the building. The budget for the Hytera Digital radio solution was very similar to that for an Analogue radios solution and the Hytera DMR system provided a number of unique benefits.

In comparison to previous Analogue radio systems MSS staff using the new Hytera DMR system experienced no background noise on transmissions, extended battery life on hand held radios, standard digital encryption to secure radio transmission, the ability to make individual and group calls and they found the Hytera DMR hand held radios to be lightweight, tough and waterproof.

There is a Motorola DMR repeater now on 439.5000 VK2RCG Metwide Comms Tx GPT Sydney CBD DCC1 Talkgroup 1.
However the radio id I logged didnt match up with a licence or client number

Also heard some D-star (as indicated by DSD+) on 438.775 on a Blaxland repeater (VK2RSW) .... sounded like somebody was testing their radio as there was no audio

The up to date Australia-wide VK Repeater list for 29th April 2015 can be found here
