Hi all, Yeah that wouldnt suprise me that there heading that way although there are large areas not covered by the GRN in Monaro Zone. at a guess any radio in the Bombala area would affiiate to the Brown Mtn site (although it would be patchy). the one radio that would get the site well would be in the FCC to the east of town on the hill. I remember when the GRN switched over the SES did a fair bit of coverage testing down that way and could get ok coverage in and around Bombala and had reasonable coverage to just out past Cathcart.
cheers all

I don't think there is a patch betweeen PMR and GRN. There isn't for the Far South Coast FCCs which is a pain when trying to listen.
I heard them on TG 30009 doing a radio check from a HR burn somewhere, they came through loud and clear.
Since there is large patches of poor coverage up that way I thought they would have gone to digital PMR but I am not really sure.
Either way if they are on the GRN and on the Brown Mountain site I should here them.

Ah didnt take note, but im assuming possibly Belrose as i was in Mona Vale when I noticed it, the only other sites you get down there is Manly and the 2 plateau's. I did hear Ops Comms callsign come up on another id later on, but i think this has been going on for over a week.

Haven't actually seen it, but more than likely because the Warringah GRN TG and the Mid North Coast PMR Vote Group are patched together as part of the Centralised Dispatch Trial.
Mid North Coast comes to to Homebush via VOIP and it is patched with the Warringah GRN TG on the centracom.
The 'heartbeat' can also be heard on the Warringah TG.

Ah ok, that might explain why GD49 MIDNHCO - 20015 has been seen with 0 as well.
(I did also see some activity on 10402 - Corrective Services) with a user on 0 for most of the after noon too)

Yes this ID 0 "issue" started when the GRN channel was patched with Mid North Coast for the Centralised Dispatch "trial".

It's very annoying having the radio go off in the middle of the night every 5-10 minutes so the Flyer crew at Warringah FCC now have a pager permanently attached to the Flyer Crews XTS5000 portable so the radios can be turned off/down at night.

Interesting Infomation, would be why i've heard a few odd callsigns.
But geezz, if the voting heartbeat is keeping them up at night maybe they should check thier radio programing!

The PMR heartbeat seems to be gone now. Mid North Coast are still patched most of the time though.

The pager is attached to the portable regardless of the PMR heartbeat every 10 minutes. I don't know about you but I wouldn't be to keen on being woken up for a Fire Call a few hundred miles away on the Mid North Coast.

The FIre Line also goes off to wake the crew up when a 000 call from F&RNSW comes through.
