Re: RFS going P25 + new paging system
I heard the other day the PMR was down and all crews were to use GRN. Not sure if this had anything to do with it.
Re: RFS going P25 + new paging system
Hornsby have been experiencing some kind of interference on pmr and had moved to grn for some operations over the last week and a bit.
Re: RFS going P25 + new paging system
Southern Tablelands are experiencing a lot of problems with the new paging system. Brigades arnt getting paged to calls and Sometimes only csrtain towers are shutting down. From what I've heard their trying to sort out why it's happening.
Cheers all
Matt
P.s. the p25 changeover is due in the next couple of weeks

Re: RFS going P25 + new paging system
Far South Coast district's pager system got upgraded a couple of months ago too, it was brilliant for the first two weeks but it's gone way downhill since then, probably less than half the pages are getting through.
Listening to the raw data being transmitted I can see why, what used to sound crisp and clear now sounds like it's slightly off frequency or something, the signal keeps dropping out before the page is sent?
Don't know what happened to Lake George going P25 PMR either, I was hearing some P25 testing on their PMR frequencies but then it stopped and somebody said it wasn't going ahead as they were happy to continue on the GRN instead?

Re: RFS going P25 + new paging system
just looking at the ACMA all the repeaters are going with District Voting with a common Input Frequency which is making it easy for me to find what frequencies belong to what district with some 400 repeaters through the state i look forward to listening on my next journey or have they stopped the upgrade.
for example
Mid North Coast District
422.0125 427.2125 1950155 Coffs Harbour
420.1750 427.2125 1950156 Dorrigo
420.0500 427.2125 1950157 Sapphire (North of Coffs Harbour)
420.1250 427.2125 1950158 Mt Hyland (West of Woolgoolga)
420.0375 427.2125 1950159 Mt Moombil
420.0250 427.2125 1950160 Halfway Creek
420.0125 427.2125 1950161 Boambee

Hi all,
The new P25 PMR system is now up and running and now being utilised here on the Southern Tablelands. The old analog system is still active but now is not being used and will shortly be switched off.
Cheers

Re: RFS going P25 + new paging system
Southern Highlands RFS Team finally got the pager system back up and runing after it was updated to trial a new system for the state and it failed big time - the contractor fitted the new system and ripped the old one out before testing the knew one- we have been with out pagers for about 2months or more and we have been using SMS MSG for fire calls- then one half of te SMS server fail and we were getting 1-2 people at calls and as for my STN we normal get 15+ - RFS HQ picked us to trial it and I still can't believe we were with out pager system for that length of time - the contractor had to order system parts from over seas to fit up the system to work like the old one - oh well I'm glad that know one was killed !

Very interesting !
I'm sure its unreleated but the paging system around sydney has gone to s**t in the last few days.
messages just not coming through correctly, they are sending out a tonne of tests but its still hit and miss.

Re: RFS going P25 + new paging system
That's a big stuff up, I thought they would have left the old system in place and just turned if off. They could have removed it in a months time or whenever when the new system was tested properly.vk2fear wrote:Southern Highlands RFS Team finally got the pager system back up and runing !
