The Bega Valley RFS brigades had radios upgraded or re programmed today, will be interesting to see if they start using digital in the next few weeks or so.

Only a guess but they're probably just updating to the new statewide profile in case any trucks have to go away to areas which have gone P25?

Knowing the Far South Coast district, they won't spend a cent until they're forced to! :(

Hi all, I wouldnt mind betting that they may be forced to go to GRN given the recent events down that way and given the investment. I notice that Lake George went to GRN as a trial and stuck to it soon after. chatting to someone a while ago there quite happy to stay on GRN and wont be going to P25 PMR at this stage.

South Coast would be a very different challenge... the GRN was never designed to cover west of the escarpment so I can't imagine the RFS accepting the current GRN coverage as equivalent to what existing PMR can provide. On the coastal strip there is no issue that GRN would cover it. There are still a few solar sites down there that would need lots of $$$$$ to upgrade for trunking.

Cheers

They do seem quite happy with the GRN coverage in the Bega Valley and Eurobodalla.
They have changed from PMR to GRN a few times because it provided better coverage.
I was quite surprised actually.
