Hi all,

Hawkesbury has been patched into the RFS CAD 'trial' (if you still want to call it a trial) with Cumberland joining yesterday.

Forgetting the council mergers for a second, the following DTZ's are on CAD:
Warringah/Pittwater, Mid North Coast, Shoalhaven, Orana, Tamworth, Lake George, Hawkesbury, Cumberland

The following DTZ's will be joining CAD by the end of October:
Riverina, South West Slopes, Canobolas

Districts are patched on and off as State Operations see fit easily with the Centracoms. If one or few districts have a ton of calls happening, they'll generally split the channels over two patches and have two operators run them. If it's super busy, they can keep splitting channels over many patches until local Comms take the channel back.

But in situations like overnights or in the middle of winter, all 8 (currently) districts are patched into each other.

Hope that answers any questions!

I can debunk the rumour of Baulkham Hills coming onto CAD - definitely not happening for the foreseeable future... unless Hawkesbury and Baulkham Hills RFD's eventually merge but who knows what'll happen with that for now. I've been told them being on VHF is a huge technical challenge given it can't be thrown into the Centracom easily like conventional PMR and GRN everywhere else around the state.

Regrettably you can add MidCoast (Hastings, Greater Taree, Great Lakes & Gloucester) to that list. Despite the wishes of the comms brigades the top brass just steam rolled it in.
