Programming Rural Fire Service p25

Does anyone know the right way to program p25 pmr into a 396 xt with freescan ?
1. I know you program the frequency first

2. I know the step is 12.5k

3. The mod is NFM

My next question does the NAC search automatically or do you have to type search manually ?

you dont need to set the NAC unless you wish to monitor that NAC only. just set the frequency, leave step and modulation set to AUTO. Set Audio type to "Digital Only" do not set a CTCSS tone (they are not used anyway) and you should be good to go.
