NSW RFS: East Region - All TG's and Frequencies

October 2017 Update:"

seems to already confirm our analogue is gone. Mid Coast which is now as I said before Hastings, Greater Taree, Great Lakes and Glocuester has been totally P25 for at least 2 years now on the PMR network and usually folk select the P25 simplex FOPS channels but many don't understand the difference in them.

Actually on that most of the staff are clueless to that as well, I one day had a staffer claim that FOPS 9 & 10 I think it was couldn't be used at two different incidents as they were "too close together and might interfere with each other". Also claimed that it didn't matter which FOPS they chose they are all digital (I'll bet the brigade went analogue to use Baofengs lol). I promptly said if that's the case have fun when ACMA ride your ass for having dirty faulty radios and breaking the law. I got a dirty look and said hey FOPS9 & 13, 10 &14 etc WILL interfere and they outright argued that channel numbers being closer together would create more issue. I said that given ALL the FOPS simplex analogue and digital are just made of only four frequencies that are recycled as every 5th with a different tone or nac you need to think more about your fours. Of course they went to argue some more digging themselves deeper so I said I should have some idea what I'm talking about given I program radios just like yours all the time as myself and friends use them as hobby radios since they are of good quality. The rest of the room was grinning I think that one of the paid staff totally made a fool of themselves talking about something they obviously knew bugger all about. There are a couple of staff here who have a half an idea of what's what and funnily enough they never argue with me on RF or radios any more.

I have to admit though the thought of the GRN coming through has me more than a touch concerned. Given our locals "have no money left" so can't add GRN subs to brigade handhelds which are currently used on the PMR and make things a lot easier. Also I know a number of the sites have unpredictable and bad power supply to them and often loose AC in a storm and the GRN has a BAD habbit of going offline when needed in storms. If it's only the council, ambos etc that roll GRN and VKG+RFS stay as they are I'll be relieved. I've made some of our other comms staff aware of the impending changes that may occur and they seems a little concerned as well.

Anyway that's off topic so I need to stop ranting.

That update still has the analogue and P25 UHF listed, but will update as per your post.

Cheers.
