Post by ajs007 » Fri Aug 29, 2008 1:39 am

Tonight i herd Rescue 22 doing a transfer from singleton to john hunter hospital. Is that a nsw ambulance chopper and what type or aircraft is it.

BTW i was of the thinking that westpact helicopter service was the only chopper for this area is that right.?

Bell 412 owned by CHC

ASNSW dispatch aircraft to where they want and required. Westpac may of been doing something else.

They have no boundaries within NSW.

Garry has the best list I have seen for Ambo Heliocopters

http://lakescan.customer.netspace.net.a ... pters.html

He keeps in close contact with Australia.s heliocopter guru Bob Bell - who in a former life has been a NSW copper (including part the famous 21 division Gaming Squad) a NSW Police radio tech, author, magazine co-editor and I believe was involved with the late John Costello in setting up Australian Traffic Network ... ie the regulat traffic updates on radio and Channel 10 news - now retired.

PS In addition you will frequently the Royal Flying Doctor come up on Talkgroup 43856 as "air ambulances" .... the callsigns begin with Alpha Mike (xxxx)

Ray Hadley first day back on Radio 2GB he got stuck into the Minister for Health, John Della Bosca about continuing communication probems with NOT using westpac coppers for sea cliff rescues but using a more further away ambo ruscue chopper.
