Re: Incident Ground channels
Does FRNSW (or anyone really) use the shared GRN simplex channels?
Re: Incident Ground channels
Yes, as and when required. I was just told this morning of an exercise last week where they were used (including NSW Police).

Re: Incident Ground channels
As I sit at my office window I'm listening to the Flyer and a few other crews conducting a training exercise near the Lindt cafe in Martin Place at Philip St.
Heavy HAZMAT Alpha was there earlier as well.
All Analogue on 510. Love the MDC bursts, very NY Firefighter like

Re: Incident Ground channels
I'd say it's in the profile but they were definitely using Analogue today for a training exercise.
Re: Incident Ground channels
Officially they use analogue however we are aware of many stations using the P25 incident channels. It has become a "sort of" unofficial trial. The stations that I know are using digital have told us they like it so no-one is discouraging the practice.
The MDC1200 signalling works well. It can be decoded when the signal is so low that voice is unreadable. The MDC is used for ANI, emergency call, and radio inhibiting over the PMR networks. It works on simplex too, though it is only decoded at the incident ground.
Cheers,
Richard

Used a lot during joint 2nd, 3rd Alarm Grass/Bushfire jobs in our Zone between FRNSW Operational Commanders and RFS Group Captains.JimK wrote:Does FRNSW (or anyone really) use the shared GRN simplex channels?

A510 was used today at the Hoxton Park structure fire.
