Hi all, is thus network like the RFS P25 PMR where each vote is area specific and has a individual NAC per area or is it like the old channel setup with a common input?
Cheers

Hi Matt,

Base voting requires a common input and single NAC (per network). The same freqs/NAC could be repeated elsewhere, and that is what I would prefer, but it may not be. Both RFS & FRNSW have to work under RALI GS1 which makes frequency reuse "difficult". The Monaro network is split into 2 vote groups, 1 covering the Bombala area (3 sites) and the other the Jindabyne area (currently 3 sites, 2 extra sites licenced for future expansion). Each vote group has its own common input (but same NAC).

The voting is impressively fast... I really got to test it properly yesterday for the first time & having those low latency hot links makes the site switching very quick.

Cheers,

Richard

Richard,

To save a lot of time, the frequencies are...?

Just thought I would ask.

Hi all, I went thru the area yesterday on the way to the coast via Bombala, sounded good although i only got the Emerald hill and Bombala sites. is the NAC the same across all the sites or is it only that NAC for those two?
cheers

Hi Matt,

Mount Delegate still has a link issue, we have some desense from the base back into the link... same NAC for the first 6 sites Matt. We got the remote monitoring fully up & running on Friday afternoon which was cutting it fine for the Christmas break. It is a wonderful luxury to be able to sit at home & log into any of the sites to check how they are going. Audio quality is normally good but we are still working on improving the filtering on the links, a job for the new year. Every once in a while a link goes "digital" because of noise (mostly the plods & Ambos bases).

And no Russell... the frequencies are on the ACMA database... come on don't be a slack arse!

Cheers,

Richard

Just curious here Richard, do you mean "digital" as in you get the robotic, R2D2 style broken P25 noise, or you hear the digital C4FM modulation?

Noticing 2072766 link, acting similar to the Link the other day.

207xxxx is a Centracom ID... most likely an operator SNAFU (oops, that never happens...)
