MMR and RMR are using the same bandplan, as mentioned.

MMR Sites are Phase II capable, they had the upgrades some time ago.

Correct regarding the EAS Paging Network. The two frequencies are split between agencies.
148.9125 is the original EAS frequency whilst the other is a former Orange Network frequency that DoJ acquired as it was largely used by AV.

Also regarding MMR BDA sites, they'll have a licence under the usual DoJ number for the 421MHz frequencies at 5w but also have one under Motorola for the 503MHz rebroadcast frequencies which range from 1w to 12w.

If you see anything on MMR listed for 25w they'll generally be the Direct Mode Operation (DMO) frequencies.

I think traditionally those have been BDA freqs. On the road at present and don't have my files with me.

It's been a little while since I checked but I just noticed a new VIC pager site on the ACMA (Date Authorised 28/Jun/2018):

Pager Site - ESKDALE (Fire Station 41 Little Snowy Creek Road) - ACMA Site: 10010798

Added to the VICMMR / VICRMR Map (note that the "Pagers" layer is not visible by default, you need to scroll down and turn it on)

P.S. I just went to update the VICMMR list on this forum but it looks like it needs a major freshen up, which I don't have time to do tonight (it's now 21:00 and I haven't eaten yet), so that will have to wait for another day!

We also now have this integrated with the MMR: https://www.victrack.com.au/news/news-a ... safety-das

Of late it seems new Police Stations in some areas get their own internal low power ISR.

Hmm, I just read that entire article and still have no idea what a "DAS" actually is?

So are these security officers on trains part of VICPOL or is the MMR finally allowing other government departments on board?

A DAS is a Distributed Antenna System.

And the security officers are in fact Protective Service Officers which is a branch of the Victoria Police. They have limited police powers, they cannot arrest on suspicion.

Not to be confused with BDA's.

Other 'entities are coming onboard with the MMR, but they're all Government.
