For those down that way or really anywhere in the state where there is digital, i would be interested in any radio ids you can log. I am compiling my own list, both encrypted and in the clear with the grecom psr800 and dsdplus.

Yep, the southern half of the Far South LAC is still analog so I expect there is still some temporary patching being done?

i get a lot of 5's here, except when a car in the local vote calls. the vote to my north on the other hand gets the actual id's
its the same on all digital sierra channels car has to be in the vote to see the id.

Bigfella, has the north FSC vote gone to digital? it was analog when i was there last week?

cheers
Matt

Yep, the old Z1 VOTE025 (Batemans Bay / Moruya) and Z1 VOTE029 (Narooma / Bermagui / Cobargo) groups are now digital.

From what Mark said, Votes 27 (Bega) and 17 (Eden) are not.

I don't think I've actually seen a car on the local vote call up yet, or at least I wasn't looking at the radio if they did, but every other Tx is coming up as "ID 1"

Sorry Matt, you are correct.

Cars on the same vote group show real RIDs, everyone else (including VKG) shows up as "1"

So do we think it will stay like that permanently or will I eventually see every ID on the channel?

It was like that in the early days on Whiskey but now everywere bar the Goulburn (137), Yass (67) and Crookwell (6) votes show the RID no matter where the car is transmitting.
The new Z3 in Albury was done correctly straight off the bat.
I'll have to make the relevent changes in my radios then and kick the old Z1 stuff out for down there, already had the new Z3 stuff.
Cheers

Up North when I am visiting Port Macquarie and listening off Middle Brother I can see the RIDS on November for Port Stephens, Central Hunter and Great Lakes-Manning but the patched-in analog Hunter Valley comes up with 1 (they are just starting on the digital upgrade). (Note: on 24/6/14 it was noticed that Port Stephens and Central Hunter RIDS are now appearing with a "1")

Local cars on the Port Vote come up with RID but further north Kempsey vote (RID 1) and Coffs-Grafton vote (RID 0)
When I listen off the Kempsey sites RID 1 still appears (which gives me the impression the techs are still working on the Kempsey sites) but further north off Bowra Sugarloaf I can see the Coffs Rids

From memory when analog Papa is patched in with Oscar, Papa appears as a 1

Most of the Sydney channels are currently appearing with RID 5 but after conferring with Citabria, I believe that is because they are upgrading the encryption keys in all metro radios.

Encryption may make the users inaudible but they are definitely not invisible

It will be interesting to see how long it takes to change over the far southern area.
If it was me doing it I would want to get it over and done with, the change over has been going on for probably a couple of years now and if it was me I would be totally over it. Then again if the money wasn't there my hands would be tied.
So, shall we take bets on how long until the rest changes over, I am betting 3 months.
Mark
