I drove through there back in mid-November and can confirm they were on P25 then. I posted the info on this forum here: http://scansydney.com/board/viewtopic.p ... t=10#p9753

Thanks for that
I now remember your post
I am heading to Port Macquarie next week so I will try to keep tabs how far they have got.

I have been listening to P25 audio from the Coffs and Grafton cars patched into the analogue that i am hearing in the Port Macquarie area and would be interested to know if folk who are located in the Coffs-Clarence, Bryon Bay and Richmond Valley LACS are hearing digital clear on the 458-459Mhz input
The reason I ask is that the Sydney metro cars were encrypted for approximately 1.5 years prior (Dec 2006) to digital encryption being implemented ( in May 2008)and that the Digital clear audio we heard was being retransmitted from the dispatchers headset
I will give examples from existing patched P25 arrangements - even though "Victor" and "November" transmit in digital clear, I understand that if you are close to the cars all you can hear on the input is an encrypted signal ie the broadcast audio is from the dispatchers headset.
Just curious

You would have noted my indignation on that forum at the use of queensland police channel numbers for nsw channels (which are completely different) and suggested that they refer to frequencies
I think I got the point across eventually with Comint's help.
There is a suggestion that the site at Parrots Nest at Lismore has been switched back to analogue in the last week or two

Plonked the mobile magnetic base on the gutter at my mum's villa on the Hastings River (3 metres above sea level) and picked up the following:

468.0125 P25 Digital - Oscar - Tx Mt Yarraphinni
468.0750 107.2 Analogue - OSCAR - Tx Mt Cairncross, Port Macquarie
468.1500 107.2 Analogue - OSCAR - Tx Mt Yarraphinni
468.3875 P25 Digital - Oscar - Tx Bowra Sugarloaf
468.7250 107.2 Analogue - OSCAR - Tx Transit Hill Port Macquarie
468.8250 107.2 Analogue - NOVEMBER - Tx Middle brother mountain
469.1625 107.2 Analogue - OSCAR - Unknown Tx location (not listed on ACMA)

Rather interested in where 469.1625 is located
I can't hear any others from this lowly location at Port Macquarie.
I hope to get to one of the high points around here in a couple of weeks time when my knee is happier (i can walk on it but it swells up as the day wears on).

I have a GRE PSR-500 capable of NAC decode but it is on loan (or more accurately I haven't picked it up yet).

For the record:
1. the local Port Macquarie cars can still be heard on VHF (eg 78.2750, 78.5125Mhz)
2. Non police callsigns "SES101" and "SES102" are active on Oscar attending a animal rescue matter (dog trapped on a cliff ledge in a quarry)
