On a recent trip to Canberra I was able to listen to country police on 468.850 down to about Mittagong then when I lost that I started scanning & picked them up again by changing to 468.025/468.125/468.300/469.400 (not necessarily in that order but ) then when I hit lake George I picked up Queenbyanne on 469.225.
469.225 is at mt budawang east of braidwood but is quite clear along lake george.
468.025 is off mt cronin near captains flat, again quite clear along the lake.
469.400 is at isaccs ridge just se of woden and west of hume in the ACT, can be picked up as far north as Gearys gap but fades in and out till sutton rd.
the above channels are for channel Sierra
468.125 is at canyonleigh and at yass and forms part of channel W.
cheers

That's just a VHF patch to Channel Xray.

VHF Ch 14 78.4375MHz CTCSS 241.8Hz

Yes that is correct - its just a VHF patch to Chan X. Also there either are more bridges to UHF or more users of VHF as I get other destinctly different VHF channels from out west. Sadly I need a bigger ant.

I tend to use VHF 14 instead of 468.85 as I have alot of problems receiving this freq - possibly something to do with it being licensed in Katoomba, Penrith, Kurrajong Heights & Warragamba.

My mistake - VHF 14 comes from Kurrajong Heights and not Springwood. In the upper mountains I get solid attenuation with a far from ideal 1.3m UHF antenna rig.

At 2.45pm (sat 23/1/10) they appear to have returned to the dark side of the force
Cars and Dispatcher both encrypted.
Did hear the dispatcher in the clear about 2pm
