Odd callsign...

Post by Bass Junkie » Wed Jul 15, 2009 4:26 pm

Heard a car going off in a small town in the Parkes area with callsign of Oscar 312 or something similar. Any ideas who this could be? It was re an inquiry, so I don't believe it falls under the normal callsigns (300s would be traffic.)

It could be a region based traffic car....

either that or they might have clipped the sierra part at the begining which would fit ( sierra oscar 312)...

Just thought then, isn't Oscar used by the RTA as a region or something?

I have heard an Oscar car before but I can't remember what it was for. It wouldn't be like a crowd control type of unit or general TAG unit would it?
Although as has been said it could very well be a traffic RTA car.

rta always have used rta callsigns when using police channels afaik, oscar callsigns have been heard in sydney when major events are on if the car is doing traffic control or is crowd control aka osg
