Channel X

Post by aircadet » Mon Jan 26, 2009 5:45 am

Anyone out there have any idea if the channel X operator only works on that channel??? they often dont have great radio protocol... and seem a little overwhelmed with there one radio call every couple of hours...

Cheers

Un-educated guess No they would not only just work that channel as it would be a waste of a dispatcher especially since its mainly non police organisations that call up on that channel. My limited listening of it you very rarely hear out of area Police calling up on Ch X when they are in the GSA.

That would mean it was being run from VKG Wagga Wagga rather than Sydney

Yup. Hearing plenty of Wagga, Young, Yass, etc. callsigns on 62640. Interesting stuff! :D
EDIT: Hearing it off Hornsby Heights on 467.925 as well.

I was sure i heard police, i heard Golbourn 15 tonight.
Not sure which talkgroup though as im just using an old analogue scanner.
Frequency was 417.1750, which is the Belrose repeater.

Yep can hear it on ch x all the way up to newcastle.

Some car just called up about a fox that had been run over and the officer was going to sort it out.
Let the operator know there would be shots in the area.

I noticed it was patched in since about 9pm last night.
This arvo i did hear some digital for a few minutes but that quicly went away :)
