One of the last I heard now was Merimbula 25. Fun times and great memories.
Damn now I feel old. Those are all new callsigns, before that all the GD callsigns were Bay 1, Bega 1, Eden 1, etc. (surely that wasn't that long ago?)

Then they changed to a LAC-based system where everything was Far South 15, Far South 21, Far South 26, etc. but everybody whinged that they couldn't remember who was who so they changed again to what we have (had) now... Bay 15, Bega 21, Eden 26, etc.

The old patrol based callsigns were replaced with the LAC based callsigns in the mid to late 90's, so it was the better part of 20 years ago. Time certainly does fly!

Especially if you go back even further when I started at VKG the first time in the early 1980's. The callsigns were numerical, 1-1 was the caged truck from Central, 2 Division was Regent Street, 3 DIV Darlinghurst etc. The good old days when callsigns made sense.

You are real old if you can remember when Burwood (9 division) was on Golf (468.7000) way back in 1980, before it got moved to Foxtrot on 468.7500
