VKG Closures.
VKG Closures.
Heard a story yesterday to the effect that a couple more country radio-rooms are closing. True?

Re: VKG Closures.
I'd say none will close and this is because
Police have cut radio dispatching resources back as much as they can go without sacrificing redundancy in their network.
I'm guessing the rumours are mentioning Penrith as one of the ones shutting down ?

Re: VKG Closures.
I heard Wagga and Tamworth.
Re: VKG Closures.
It is all rumours at the moment. It seems someone in the PSA got carried away.
There has been some discussion about Wagga Wagga, but that is the only centre.

Thanks.
Re: VKG Closures.
Well, closure of Wagga has been announced.....
So that half was true.
Other centres "are to be examined".
Not looking good for Tamworth.
So much for decentralization.

Re: VKG Closures.
All centres other than VKG Sydney are to be closed in the next 3-5 years.
I don't think this has been made public yet but it's definitely true.

Doesn't seem to make much sense does it. I hope the bigwigs know something no one else does but I know that all important networks need redundancy.system_tech wrote:ok ... what happened to diversity / not having all eggs in one basket?Air490 wrote:All centres other than VKG Sydney are to be closed in the next 3-5 years.
