Windows 10 and my various decoders

Post by cartman » Mon Aug 10, 2015 9:34 am

I have upgraded to Windows 10
It worked well the first time except for the audio
It worked on audio after some upgrades were uploaded
However it is not running on Unitrunker, DSD+1.074 or WinDSD
Not sure what is going on except that I know with DSD the audio soundwave form is present
I am running a old AMD Turion II P560 2.5Ghz with 4Ghz RAM (Toshiba Satellite Notebook)
So far I am impressed with Windows 10 but I would obviously like for my decoding programs to work properly
Over to you computer geeks

Thanks Grant for the info. I've 'upgraded' a number of laptops here over to Windows 10, but not the desktop PC (running Windows 7 SP1) due to concerns about incompatibility with the program's you mentioned. I'd be keen to hear from you or others about how they all work out.

It maybe as simple as reinstalling the programs mentioned above. The link says that the Windows 10 upgrade process appears to replace the WinUSB drivers with the Windows DVB-T ones.

Unfortunately I lost the plot on windows about 20 years ago, so I am heavily dependent on others. PC's didnt even exist until after I left high school.

On Radioreference forum, if you type in "Windows 10" there are numerous pages of issues with different type of PC's and notebook, so it (the upgrade) is a bit of a lottery
My gut instinct is that it is an audio input / audio output setting issue as I can see the DSD waveform
It is not passing the audio correctly, so I think the fix is relatively simple

Found the get of jail card
In the settings control panel you have for the first month the ability to restore to the previous operating version
Restored back to Windows 7 - all good - and all my decoding programs now working normal

Windows 10 and my various decoders

Post by Scotty » Wed Apr 03, 2019 8:57 pm

An old thread, but has anybody been using Unitrunker successfully with the latest versions of Windows 10? Google searches suggest there are still issues, so thought someone here locally may be able to confirm one way or another.

I plan on combining the PC which has the SDR dongles, currently winning W7, with a new PC that will be arriving shortly, which will have W10. Of course if Unitrunker has issues I may need to reconsider options.

I note Unitrunker 2.0 is still in beta - and while that appears to be made for W10, many users complain of continuing niggling issues as well.

I'm running unitrunker on 10 just fine. Never had an issue.
Running 1.0.33.6 on both my windows 10 machines.

The only restriction with UT V2 that I know of is that it will only run on 64-bit versions of windows.

Thanks guys. Will see how I get on.

I plan on running the last V1 and not the V2 beta. While the machine will be x64, from what I’ve been reading elsewhere some are saying there are data import/export/saving/corruption issues with the V2 beta, and I don’t fancy losing all stored data.
