Hi there

I have recently purchased a USDS100 so look forward to monitoring these sites and adding some TGIDs in the near future.

One quick question from someone who is coming back to "scanning" after many years, is there any difference in how Cap Max and Con+ are loaded in something like Sentinel?
Any suggestions on best way to load much appreciated.

Cheers
Mark

Mark,

First up Con+ is a "pseudo trunking" system, while CapMax is a Tier III which is a proper trunking network. Both rely on the LCN or Logic Channel Number being entered to work correctly. The next question you are going to ask is how do I find out the LCN? The USDS100 has an LCN Finder function which, if the network is busy, will find the LCN quickly. A not so busy network slows the process down.

If you are using something like DSD or DSD+ the LCN's are different so do not rely on those. There is a formula to convert from one to the other, but lets take small steps to start with.

Enter all the frequencies for the site as Control Channel trunking only will not work.

Finally make sure you have the DMR upgrade installed, otherwise all of the above is moot.

Thanks Russell - much appreciated. I will give that a go and see how I get on. Yes, I have paid for the DMR upgrade ;)

Cheers
