Jail security

Post by freqwaves » Sun Jul 29, 2018 11:33 am

After scanning the airwaves at my new location I have come across what sounds like a onsite security company.
Freq: 467.6625 - st-107.2
On check of the ACMA database this could be either of the following below:
Silverwater Jail
Long Bay Jail
Sydney Exhibition Centre

I thought now all the jails would be on digital?

No mate, I'm not far from Goulburn Jail and they're still running 2 analog channels with MDC.
I have however heard P25 encryption used at times as well.
Cheers

Ah ok, I wonder if they’re using it for interop with the police then?

There is no communications interoperability between the two groups.

From listening a few times I think it is one of the jails. They talk about the gatehouse.
It's either Silverwater or Long bay.
I'm located at Lugarno now in a high position & in equal distance to both.
