Digital P25 being used at Newcastle airport in Mil ariband.
Some are being re-transmitted from Mil airband to VHF air band frequencies.
Is this the same at other major airports and military bases?

If you type "military" in the search box you will find that there is a thread about similar from 2017.
Also there seems to be a recent increase in Government Homeland Security users appearing in this band eg Border Security /Customs

The former are increasing encryption on their systems while the later already are, good luck!

The rebroadcast between 398MHz and airband at military airfields is generally the SMCV (Surface Movement Control Vehicles) frequency... in civi terms 'Ground'. This means only the standard radio install ( 'grey brick' when I got out) and not a full airband install needs to be done for vehicles accessing airside.

Never monitored airband much before so it's all new.
SMCV, Fire, Tower... all have numberous TGID's and RID's on Mil airband, rebroadcasted on VHF airband.
Interesting.

Point Cook in Victoria still has their CTAF on 126.2MHz rebroadcast to 380.95MHz P25.
