Also yesturday afternoon there was one near Batemans Bay with some properties under threat, they had a fair few units on scene and were there for quite a while. As I type this there is a grass fire west of Merimbula, doesn't sound like much though, Pambula 1 and 7 are on scene.

This afternoon around 13:00 started hearing activity in the Goulburn Township, the Two Fire Services were dealing with a rather large running grass fire with property under threat that had 305 and I think 234 Crews working hard along with a number of RFS Crews.

Heard the Duty Commander saying around 17:00, that RFS Crews were being scaled down and sent home, and that 305 & 234 Crews to remain on site for sometime mopping up.

Looking at the fire danger map there is a Total fire ban for Monaro,
I think this is the first for this season.

Hi all, I was at that fire you mentioned. only 305 Pumper and Hazmat was on scene 234 was probably the follow up. there was 15 RFS units at that fire , 3 from my Brigade. It burned about 100 acres on Rocky hill(the war memorial hill). was all mopped up by 630-7pm.
cheers all

Longreach,

234 were moved-up to 305 Station for town coverage, but as a number of calls came in for houses coming under threat, 234 were also being sent out to such calls along with any others in Goulbourn Township itself.
