WRC Coffs Harbour

Post by Holdenracer » Wed Sep 10, 2014 1:59 pm

The world rally hits town this weekend.

I believe most teams use radios running VHF between 148-174 MHZ.

here are some possible freqs:

159.000 TAG HL680 Data and 71.9Hz SISL timing engineers
159.075 Citreon CH1
159.225 Ford CH1
467.300 NXDN4800 Digital VW

Also don't forget the comms are usually relayed by an overhead aircraft so that means the repeaters can be heard for miles around

Watching some of the on-board footage on TV and these guys are lunatics!

I know they get multiple runs over the course to write and test their notes before they have to do it at full noise but the speeds they're hitting are just crazy. They actually get themselves sideways setting up for a corner long before you can even tell which way the corner goes!

Team Recon was conducted on the Monday 7th and Tuesday 8th, the worse of all the accidents in the WRC were during Team Recon, in Non-competitive cars, with one driver be ruled out of the WRC Round with broken ribs.

Thursday 10th was a Non-competitive day, but a Media day, a day so media crews could get vedio and sponsors get the red carpet treatment, two cars came to grief during the day, one being the Australian Citroën team car.

the next 3 days for me were a blur, early days and late lights.
