Motorola Zen network

Post by kevnerd486 » Thu Oct 30, 2008 12:32 pm

Any one know much about the Motorola Zeon network in NSW. I saw some people using this network today (i thinks that was what they where using because they had Moto MTP850's on there belts. The audio out of the speaker mikes was very clear. Does this network use the mobile phone network? or its own system?

regards

800Mhz Trunking Network (865-870Mhz) with numerous sites Sydney Metro, lower Blue Mts, Illawarra, Central Coast, Newcastle and Lower Hunter.
They have an unmistakable WFM hum noise.

Yep Kev, it's TETRA.

They had coverage problems in its early stages, but Motorola has installed extra sites to keep customers happy.

The audio i heard come out of the speaker mike sounded very good not the normal digital garbled sound like the police network.

P25 digital is actually very good - Its just that NSW Police's implementation of it is screwed so it sounds terrible...
