Re: NSW P25 GRN - Site Listing (current)
G'day Pat, generally speaking, no.
Firstly, they are extremely "point-to-point" in that the dishes transmit a very narrow beam only in the direction of the other point, so you would need to be between the two points to receive both frequencies (they are full duplex so both ends are transmitting all the time). In most situations you would need to be at a reasonable altitude to achieve that and the links are pre-planned so that there aren't any mountains in the way as it all needs to be line-of-site with frequencies that high.
Secondly, there wouldn't be anything that you would recognise as radio traffic. Think of all these microwave links as a network, kinda like internet connections, once the network is connected to the site it can then send and receive data from the system, and there must obviously be enough bandwidth to enable many sites to connect over a single network.
And lastly, with so many sites getting microwave licences in such a short time period, I'd have to say that much of this licencing was done well in advance of the physical installations, so it might still be years until every site listed actually has a working microwave link at all?
In short, don't get excited yet. But I would say keep an eye on the ACMA sites around you for 'wide area' freqs to appear, once that happens then you can fire-up the scanner... some go live almost immediately, some still take months, but at least you'll know you're close!
Who knows what their schedule is but you'd think the Hume Hwy would be a priority so you may see some action sooner rather than later, but that's purely speculation. If you're a member of any of the agencies using the GRN then you may get some advanced notice too?
Andrew
EDIT: DOH! Rusty beat me to it.

Re: NSW P25 GRN - Site Listing (current)
Love yer work, Allison, thanks!
RFSS 003 Site 101 - MOUNT MOOMBIL (26 km WSW of Coffs Harbour) - ACMA Site: 7952
...has just been moved out of the Unidentified sites list on the NSWGRN Map.
Also, somebody reported a new site having a peer of 003-116 with a CC of 419.6000, and as it looks like they're numbering sites south to north, that means the following site...
RFSS 003 Site 116 - WOOMBAH (via Jacky Bulbin Rd Mororo) - ACMA Site: 280225
...has also been identified. That makes six North Coast sites ID'd and roughly thirty-odd sites with wide area freqs licenced still to go. Although this business of shutting them down after testing is a PITA.

Re: NSW P25 GRN - Site Listing (current)
to my knowledge and according to a reliable source
RFSS 003 Site 101 - MOUNT MOOMBIL (26 km WSW of Coffs Harbour) - ACMA Site: 7952
and along with the following- Nardi SiID 130, Buckinbil SiID 123, Halfway Creek SiID 110, Woombah SiID 116, Mudges Quarry SiID 136, Girrard Z 1 SiID 96.
will only remain on air until the fire's are finished and then switched off.

Re: NSW P25 GRN - Site Listing (current)
Thanks Brett,
I've updated the following sites on the map...
RFSS 003 Site 130 - MT NARDI (30 km N of Lismore) - ACMA Site: 8533
...and...
RFSS 003 Site 136 - MULLUMBIMBY (Mudges Quarry Coolamon Scenic Dr) - ACMA Site: 370253
...but I need to confirm, are you saying "GIRARD (Fire Tower) - ACMA Site: 8255" is actually 001-096?
It seems REALLY strange to have a zone 1 site number so far north...
Andrew

Not if it's actually a CoW. IIRC from previous posts that 001-095 to 001-099 are the CoW site numbers.
