That appears to have only changed since I made my last post. Pro96com is show the same thing now, CC of 419.5500MHz.

What is also strange is that 419.5500MHz doesn't appear in any of the control channel listings either.

NSW Police Upgrade for NSW GRN

NSW Police hands Motorola Solutions $1.8 million to refresh radio communications

By Nico Arboleda
Jun 27 2019

NSW Police has awarded Motorola Solutions a new contract to refresh some of its radio communications infrastructure.

The $1.8 million contract runs from April to June this year, and involves the replacement of Motorola Quantar base stations.

Quantar base stations connect landline and radio communication environments, converting data sent to mobile or portable data terminals to make it suitable for over-the-air transmission.

The deal was a non-tender procurement direct with Motorola to meet NSW Telco Authority requirements.

“It is a NSW Telco Authority requirement that NSW Police Force replacement radio communications technical infrastructure upgrades and replacements are compatible with the NSW Government Radio Network (GRN) so that such assets might be made available for re-use on that network if so required in the future,” a NSW Police spokesperson told CRN.

The spokesperson added that the GRN is a Motorola network, and that the vendor is listed under NSW Procurement Prequalification Scheme ITS-2573 (Operational Telecommunications Equipment, Infrastructure and Services).

Motorola Solutions has a close relationship with Australian police forces, securing a number of contracts like road safety tech and telecommunications infrastructure.

Last year, the company secured a $261 million deal to upgrade Victoria's mission-critical radio network used by emergency services such as police, ambulances and the fire brigade.

Interesting... I wonder what "road safety tech" is exactly?

Andrew

P.S. Still working my way through all those new sites, I've added maybe two dozen to the map so far but that still leaves about seventy-odd to go!

Possibly... but none of those things would seem to be Motorola products?

Doesn't really matter, I was just curious. I expect it may be something to do with the MDT's, or ANPR cameras, or vehicle tracking, or something like that?

Officially over halfway through, 48 sites added to the map and 43 sites to go! (Plus 3 existing HSGA sites so far that had microwave links added)

Hopefully I will get through them all this weekend but I can't stare at this monitor any longer tonight...

Thanks for the updates.

Site 1-28 seems that it's back online with CC being 419.5500. (someone to confirm the NAC if it has changed or not)

LOL! Posting that at 4am deserves some serious kudos. Thanks again for your efforts!

@Matt

RFSS 001 Site 028 is definitely back online with CC of 419.5500MHz. That frequency isn't licensed to that site, and as well, it's licensed to both Windsor and Wisemans Ferry/Simpsons Hill which are only 29KM apart.

It also looks like all the frequencies/channels on that site have changed as well. I'll post back up when I have gathered more data.

Thanks all, I'm still playing catch-up but I will hopefully be done adding those 94 new sites tonight... only 28 to go now.

Adding the microwave links (the lines on the map) is soaking up some time now I'm at the end of the list, I couldn't add many of them at the start because I only had a site at one end of the path, but now I'm paying the price with multiple links coming off most sites and it's slowing progress considerably.

BTW, for today's totally useless piece of trivia, there are now more of those "Microwave Relay Sites" on the map than any other type of site, but of course that will change (eventually) as wide area freqs are licenced and sites come online & get identified.

If the North Coast and most of these new sites all get lumped into zone 3 it's gonna be HUGE, there'll be close to 300 sites in zone 3 alone! I still reckon they should add some extra zones and regionalise it a little better, but there must be some reason why they're not?

Damn it'd be nice to have an official site list!

Update - both Castle Hill (001-075) and Badgally (001-076) have been moved to Bandplan 5.

Also confirmed NAC for Hassans Walls - 0x2D0
