It already had been reported by users... that is a pretty long bow you are drawing. Yes the report is appreciated but please don't try to bring the encryption issue in to it.

Agreed, but I know from personal experience that persons using a scanner have provided timey and accurate information about persons and vehicles wanted for serious offences. One in particular was about the serious assualt of a police officer. So while the encryption issue is a long bow to draw, there is argument for and against. Some police chiefs in America openly support citizens (and afterall it is our money they are spending) using a scanner to the point they publish police frequencies on the website. Those that are against it face the usual question, What are they trying to hide?

An endless debate, probably without answer.

Personally, I think they should go back to the old Messenger Pigeon Service again, like really the old Pigeon service is rather cost effective, runs on bird food which can deliver huge saving into the Billions compeered to Equipment and site rental cost, and with today’s genetic engineering and Gun Ownership Laws makes the old Pigeon Service rather speedy, secure and cost effective service really

If they could only breed a pigeon that flies at the speed of light? (Less distance to travel then too!)

If a problem isn't noticed, how is it a problem? Think about that... there are far bigger issues than a lone faulty exciter.
