I'm guessing RID 401 using TG 19933? Had a far few hits as well and it frequently appears to be online. Haven't captured anything from it yet, although from memory that TG is encrypted.

Yep that's it ....401
Some are encrypted, some aint.
Pretty boring stuff testing bases

PS There is even a 123456 currently present on my logs for mid-september

Update on 123456. The log shows it has been denied by the system on 3 or 4 occasions on 12/13-9-15

Hi all ammendment to that list. I've been trying to get a full list for the local area on and off and have seen 201xxx, 202xxxx, 203xxxx AND 204xxxxx.

I'm starting to wonder if there is just a number generator for whoever is responsible for all GRN radios and it's a first come first served whoever is next gets next. I've noticed that what seems to be ALL the Tait portables that brigades have purchased themselves have an RID of '1'. I'm guessing in it's usual tightwad actions the RFS will waste money elsewhere it's not needed and claim they don't have enough money to pay GRN rego for these radios as usual. Should be an interesting outcome if (nay when I reckon) the GRN finally makes it's way up here (dreading that thought but loving the info that was given to me that ALL including the school yard bully VKG will be forced to comply lol).

Mid Coast NSW area.

I think you will find the "1"s are a patch from P25 PMR into P25 trunking
There is no GRN trunking from Bulahdelah north (though it is coming soon)

Nah the 1's are a number of local handhelds on our voting network there is no GRN patch here yet and hopefully it stays that way as long as possible. I had been giving Homebush bench a list of each "1" I saw but they seem to have gone with either a "will fix it when we get there" or "stuff it we DGAF". They seemed rather surprised and interested in the odd RIDs.

Where are you seeing the RID of ‘1’? If it’s via Unitrunker or similar it is likely showing a patch of some sort as mentioned by cartman.

If the number is programmed that way in the radio it would have been done so because the radio doesn’t need to to access the GRN. When the GRN does eventually venture your way the radio will be reprogrammed or replaced.

Either way it is unlikely to be an error.

Again we currently have no trunking networks to patch to here and these were local handhelds. It seems all the Tait handhelds were programmed like this. Seen on XTS5000, XTS2500 & XTL5000 (as well as a service XTS5000 from the comms room).

Patching doesn’t just occur on trucked networks. If a number of different PMR areas have been patched, a ‘1’ may appear.

Having said that, I’m sure I’ve heard the Mid Coast channels on the RFS CAD patching. If so the channels are (at least at times) patched into trunking networks in other parts of the state.

But from what you have said above it is the actual radio - all of the Tait’s - that are programmed this way. That really answers your question, it’s the way they have been programmed and would not be an error.

Didn't particularly suggest they were in error. And yes there is an XTL/APX patch here and I know it's I'd which is NOT a 1 but rather the typical 20xxxx pattern. The ids were coming up LONG before any sort of patch was put in place. I have a fair knowledge of how they are doing a lot of their stuff atm rather than an average scanner user since I'm currently active in comms and use Motorola T1 gear myself. I've also dabbled in VoIP phone systems and made my own repeaters and understand VoIP/RoIP linking and their consoles.
