Maybe thats where the techs were headed this morning. Heard them talking about taking gear 'up to' somewhere. They did not say the location. But they had a trailer full of stuff, including they said QANTARS and where worried about the rain getting it wet. Recordings come from around 7am this morning.

I've had pro96com running on mt elliott since about 7pm last night

radio id logged : - 2910102
Talkgroup logged: 19905

the radio affiliated at 06:36:57 and unaffiliated at 06:38

I heard Quantars are soon to be discontinued (thank god) and replaced by the software-defined GTR8000...

there must be a grn tech living up the coast as i've still got pro96com monitoring Mt Elliott and the status of channel 04-1110(419.4125) has changed from D to VD and also had the same talkgroup and same radio id affiliate again to it that affiliated this morning around 0630hrs

I had a channel appear on Razorback recently go from D to DV.
Hearing the techs on 19905 and 19901 Tgs, as have been previously listed.

Matt, QANTARS may be what they are using because they can now be gotten cheap maybe?

This arvo the tech was driving up the coast to Morrisett, First heard on Kurrajong then on Elliot on 19905, for about half an hour around 5pm.

ah ok thanks astro_boy, since i have only 1 digital scanner and my ubc780xlt doesn't wanna work with the unitrunker stuff i'm sorta stuck to only doing data monitoring and no voice.

They use whatever is specified in the contract, and I suspect that would be quantars. You try to keep equipment standard in large networks and not chop & change because something new comes along. Price would have been fixed in the contract...
