I'm not sure what to make of this "Low Power Services" Client ID?

All the licences appear to be in-building sites, with everything ranging from NSW Parliament House, to prisons, schools & TAFEs, police stations & hospitals, and even Sports & Recreation Centres.

A lot of the sites look like one or two frequency police or ambo PMR channels, but several sites look like they could be GRN sites (like the SPC)?

As for our list, I've searched back through this thread and the latest relevant post (here) from 11th August 2018 says 001-068 is still unidentified, and the last mention of an SPC site was back in June 2017 (in this post), in which we had guessed the SPC may have been 001-068 but it was yet to be confirmed?

I just can't figure out how this site got on the list when it doesn't even have any GRN-licenced freqs?

Can anyone confirm this is actually a GRN site? If it is then I have a list of other potential GRN sites from this Client ID that we may be missing, or if it isn't then I'll delete it from the list.

Didn't I confirm the SPC? I was in there and logged it. From memory it shared the same control channel frequency as 1-70 and that site was making its way to the front door, i had to relocate to actually clean decode 1-68.

Thanks Matt, I searched back through this thread but I must have missed that post somehow? Dunno if you may have added it to the list yourself but I'm almost positive it wasn't me.

Anyhow, looks like I have a heap more work to do puting together a potential site list from that new Client ID then... standby

Well that was a colossal waste of time! I've added every site and frequency licenced to that "Low Power Services" Client ID to my spreadsheet, gone through most of the assignments to verify the offsets, and I very much doubt there are any extra GRN sites in there after all.

If we disregard all the PF frequencies, as well as all the simplex sites, and all the single duplex frequency sites, that only leaves five sites with multiple freqs with an offset that falls within one of the two GRN bandplans:

RANDWICK (Prince Of Wales Hospital, High St) - ACMA Site: 3790
412.8375
414.8875
415.2000
(all with an offset of -9.45MHz)

CESSNOCK (District Hospital View Street) - ACMA Site: 6149
424.2500
424.7500
(both with an offset of +5.2MHz)

WESTMEAD (New Childrens Hospital, Hawksbury Rd) - ACMA Site: 39939
412.5375
412.8750
(both with an offset of -9.45MHz)

KARIONG (Juvenile Justice Centre Pacific Hwy) - ACMA Site: 203239
412.6750
413.1000
(both with an offset of -9.45MHz)

LUCAS HEIGHTS (OPAL Building Mendeleeff Ave) - ACMA Site: 10001972
412.6750
412.9625
(both with an offset of -9.45MHz)

I'm guessing most or all of those are either ambo or fire PMR freqs, can anyone confirm?

Regardless, there are some interesting locations I've never heard of like the NSW State Archives, which just looks like a heap of sheds joined together...

None of the Telco Low Power sites are to do with the GRN. They are stand alone PMR sites only. Mostly for, as the name suggests, low power systems within a complex. In some cases they are flat out getting to the end of the street, never mind wide area.

PS: For the odd location the frequencies are not even used.

Thanks Matt, I'll update the Glendenning site shortly.

Rusty, I thought the same until the SPC was confirmed as a GRN site, and all the frequencies there are licenced to the Low Power Services client ID.

If there's one then there's the chance of others so I had to check, plus I now need to keep checking. It's a PITA really, buggered if I know why they just can't have all GRN sites on one client ID like the other states. Typical New South Wales... make everything three times as complicated as it need be!

Andrew,

Not wishing to seem pedantic but the SPC site is a GRN site that uses low power. The Telco assignments (132 of them) that are listed as Low Power are different beasts.

At the moment the site is usually the give away. That will change as the GRN expansion continues.
