Tasmania police and scanners news story.

I was in Tasmania last month. I took a DTS 96 with me and it didn't take long to work out the police EDACS trunking systems, especially in smaller towns. They are still analogue in the 865MHz band. Ambulance and fire use analogue transmissions in the 75 - 80MHz band.
Coincidentally, while I was there this newspaper article came out http://www.theadvocate.com.au/story/516 ... es-sooner/ In this age of the "look at me " syndrome, civil libertarians might find it shocking to learn what people actually publish about themselves online. Working in the media, I'm dumbfounded as to what reporters can unearth about people LEGALLY just on social media.
Anyway, there is a TasGRN planned (since 2005) and from what I've read there's been a stalemate in choosing which band to use. But now the gridlock is broken,
