In simulcast, I mean both the current GRN and the new P2 will be patched to the operator consoles in the lead up to the migration. I would guess the new radios will have both GRN systems programmed in different zones and on switch over day each agency will have to just switch to the new zone.

Hey Mike, I'm confused as to what you mean by "both" GRN systems?

To the best of my knowledge, all these new sites and upgrades are being added to the existing system?

Sounds like there is no need to get rid of those Phase 1 scanners just yet then - looks like they will be usable in NSW for the foreseeable future.

Mike - see my post above.

As Andrew has said, there's only one system, and it has a fallback to Phase One during migration.

Oh, ok. Thanks Andrew and Citabria. I understand now. I mistakenly thought the P2 control channel was TDMA, but I've read back through the forums and found your post on the P2 CC being FDMA for legacy reasons.

The only simulcasting then would be with agencies on their PMR systems, as what happened with QPOL and the move to the GWN.

Just for the sake of speculation, I wonder if there will be a Phase III of the CCEP and if so, where will it be?

I think it's pretty much gotta be the Hume Hwy south of Yass to the VIC border, maybe encompassing Tumut and Wagga?
