LCD inverting

Post by Mike Alpha » Thu Jul 04, 2013 10:00 pm

Has anyone ever inverted an LCD display? Some scanners would look good with the display dark and just the characters illuminated. My clock radio by the bed has a LCD display and is annoyingly and wastefully bright. I'm going to have a crack at inverting it before I try a scanner display.

Here's how one guy did it http://www.icehw.net/article.php?id=65

It's still just as wasteful even with the LCD inverted, its just that with it inverted, the wasted light is hidden inside the display ;)

I ended up putting window tint over the display on my bedside clock radio to dim the green led display.
