While at Uniden Rockdale was looking at the in car recorder, has anyone got one of these type of things in their car? someones birthday is coming up.

I use a similar product from Blackvue.

I prefer the models that are more covert and that don't have a screen. It makes them less obvious and means they don't need to be removed.

Check this website out http://dashcamtalk.com/dash-cam-comparison/ Very detailed reviews to the point where they sus out the video processor used.

I own the DVR-027 bought for $60 delivered. No bells and whistles, just does the job. It's already had video aired on TV ;)

Yep, it can record clip lengths of 2, 5 or 15mins until the SD card is full and then just record over the oldest.

There are tonnes of these for sale on the internet on Ebay and sites like Goodluckbuy.com You can pick up a decent unit for way less price then the uniden ones. Some even have front and rear cameras as well as speed and GPS recording ( like the Igo Cam 800 ).
These are very popular in europe and Russia at the moment, due to road rage and fraudulent insurance claims.
