Actually these are FCC allocated for US flagged vessels, rather than being allocated internationally by ITU like the VHF channels, but vessels flagged from other countries often also use them.

2 ships in Sydney this morning. If anyone gets a chance the pager freq for the sea princess is 469.6500, I could not decode it on pdw? All tones for the ship were 203.5 and 457.x to scan.

457.5625 203.5 Hz (bridge ops)
457.2000 203.5 Hz (encrypted, most likely security channel)
469.6500 n/a (pager, wouldnt decode on PDW, will upload photo of pager when i get a chance)

what kind of modulation/protocol was 457.2000 using?
Since theres a tone I'm assuming it was frequency inversion?

citabria, was just going through some samples, actually sounded alot like scada, probably shouldve recorded it when i heard it, but it only ever came up for about 5 minutes and never heard it again.

Those pagers/duress alarms bring back memories.
They double as a pager and duress alarm or can do.
They are ASCOM pagers but distributed in Australia by Integrated Wireless, who make some cool stuff if its setup properly and people are trained in how to use it properly

Upon quickly looking at their webiste they do use POCSAG as one of the protocols. I was always meaning to try and decode my hospitals paging system when i worked for them but never got around to it

they will use ctcss or dcs..
