Around here the new 40 channels have been absolutely dead so far, so there's apparently not that much equipment getting around yet, or the users of new gear are sticking to the original 40. Left my spectrum analyser running on the CB band on max hold for about 3 days, not a peep in new channels.

In all fairness I'm surrounded by hills in the Tuggeranong valley. If it's much further north than Mt Taylor I'm unlikely to see it.

yeah i didnt get down that way very often in my old job. wont get down that way at all now in my new job.
i'd reckon it will be a fair while till it gets utilised anywhere.

Out of interest, out of the original 40 only 1-10 and 35-40 really got much use as far as I could tell. If you want to not be bothered on UHF CB, pick something around the 20's.

I might do another little utilisation study in future and post the plots here, when I'm in Australia for a change.
