One wonders if DMR will ever be permitted on UHFCB and which protocol?

im sure that there would be quite a few users using P25 on UHFCB. I wish ACMA would get over it and just allow digital modes on CB enough shit already goes on there.
cheers

Re: NEW icom radio
I don't think it will happen. CB radio is essentially a voice only communication method, with everybody having the ability to hear everybody else. Permitting digital would prevent this from occurring.Longreach wrote:im sure that there would be quite a few users using P25 on UHFCB. Subtones are permitted, but using these doesn't prevent others from hearing you.
I know digital modes are already used by some against the class licence, but that doesn't mean we all should. It's like the age old argument of power levels and non-type approved equipment on CB. Always seems to be a case of the minority who make things difficult for the majority.
If people want digital modes they should invest in a commercial frequency or get their licence for the ham bands. Plenty of other places to legally use digital modes.

PresageCommunications.net.au in WA have the IC-41W in stock for $429.00 free freight
They don't float unlike some of the Icom VHF's so best to tether to your belt/arm

Re: NEW icom radio
Probably not, as the 41S has the CB channels default as 40, whereas the 41W has a default of 80 channels CB. What does the handbook list as the software required?Chrisco wrote:anyone know if the software for 41s will program the 41w
