mcs2000 problems. Help!

Post by astro_boy » Tue Jun 30, 2009 7:12 pm

Hey guys,
I've got an issue with a mcs2000, it looks like one of the pins in the mic port has been shorted, and something small has burnt out.

Can anyone point me in the right direction to somewere i could get this fixed, I've tried a few radio shops but they didn't really want to help me out.
Or even if someone has a head with the two dials they wish to sell or know of a person selling them

Cheers

Well, at the risk of appearing trite, how about Motorola.

They always will help .... for a price.

Seriously, they do have the expertise and perhaps quite a few ex-NSW agency MCS-2000 spares.

Humm.. I think it will be my last option.
I might try and hangout and see if someone has just the head around they want to flog off.
As i dont really want to see the price that they could quote me!

After a real good look at the board i've burnt out a few tracks on the pcb.

Looks like a new remote head is in need. I'll post up in the wanted to buy.
