Issues With Memory When Programming P25 GRN

Post by jaskel » Fri Feb 25, 2011 9:28 am

Im getting this message when uploading to scanner using proscan, seems the memory is full, any ideas on how to fix it? it wont let me upload all the freq and TGID to it now...

anyone else had this issue?

Warning - System NSW GRN P25 Contains 280 Channels Per Trunking System Exceeded The Limit Of 200

So how do i go about fixing this?? do I need to make a 2nd P25 with same control channels on it and add TGID as I go??? Id prefer to keep it in 1 system but if it cant be done then it cant be done...

Any help is appreciated

I have attached the file for proscan, can you upload to your scanner and see if u have the same issue?

The 996T can have a max of 250 talkgroups per system, not 200. If proscan only allows 200 use a different program. I personally think the free Uniden software is better. In regards to adding more talkgroups the only way is as you suggested, create another identical system with the other talkgroups.

Wow - 250 talkgroup limitation on a P25 system that has a possible 65536 Talkgroups.

Thats Crap!

Yep I agree, a stupid restriction, but their are plenty of ways around it.

Sounds like you need to work out a better way of organising system in your scanner. Try breaking it up into regions, and only add control channels for those regions and the TGs you would more then likely hear in those regions. Other way is to make a system file for the main users.
But honestly, are you going to listen to 250 TGs in one system file?

Don't know how your going to go with your Pro96 then. I holds even less TGs and control channels per bank. I just started on new files for all my digital models a few days ago. The Pro96 is going to be the worse for TG capacity. Have to do a GPS one for the 996T yet.

the pro 96 only holds 150 TG's across 5 sub banks (30 per sub bank).
there was a case where i had to really strip back what i listened to. if you leave the bank open anyway on a pro 96 youll still hear all thats happening.
I wouldnt worry about all 75 or so SES TG's ive only got my region and the neighbouring region's TAC and Stratnet TG's in for SES its about all i want to listen to. while its nice to have every concievable TG available in your scanner , it will slow it to a point youll miss a fair bit.
maybe work on different files like different areas. you could utilise that in your pro96 and change as you need it (the V scannner feature)
for your unidens just lead and unload as needed?
just a thought.
cheers
