Help.... programming bcd996xt for analog nsw grn.

Post by FIRE MEDIA » Sat Feb 05, 2011 6:50 pm

:?: I'm having problems programming the BCD996XT for NSW Analog GRN..

I think the problem seems to be the Band plan... or something a long those lines?

I'm Selecting the ''custom band plan'' then programing the 3 base freqs in band paln 1 , then 2 , then 3 ect..... but having no luck pick up any TGID's

anyone got idea's?

Thanks Justin

What info have you got entered into the unit? Band plan details, control channels, where are you located as well, might be nil/very little traffic on those control channels?

i'm the central coast, i have the CC's in just having problems with the band plan...

this is how i have it now....

Band plan 1 base freq 413.1000 , offset 723 , spacing 12.5khz
band plan 2 base freq 415.0000 '' 748 '' 12.5khz
band plan 3 base freq 415.5750 '' 380 '' 12.5khz

im getting a few TGID's flashing up for like a few secs but with no audio then go again.

I have both 996t and 396t running fine on NSW GRN....

Cheers Justin

Hi there
these are the settings you need
Band plan 1 BASE FREQ 415.575mhz OFFSET 380 STEP 12.5KHZ
Band plan 2 BASE FREQ 413.100MHZ OFFSET 723 STEP 12.5KHZ
band plan 3 BASE FREQ 415.000MHZ OFFSET 748 STEP 12.5KHZ

wont work unless in that order
cheers

Offset channel numbers must be sequential.

(It's a sure-fire sign that whoever wrote the firmware was lazy/poor programmer)

yep agreed with citabria. definately wont work been there and done it. even if BP 1 is correct and BP 2 and 3 are swapped around if will go ok a bit of the time but will just die out when you get into different areas. the ACT was where i found out as one of the former control channels was 413.1875.

Thanks guys, its all good now!

Becuse its the BCD996XT - US Scanner.

There's a little more info in the set up side of things...
The US Scanners ask for HI and Lo Freqs & channels...

Band plan 1
Lower base - 415.57500
Upper Base - 419.8500
Channel Lo - 380
Channel Hi - 722
step 12.5

Working like a treat now.

Cheers Justin
