SDS200 vs SDS200E
Hi All, I don't think Uniden ever released an Australian version of the SDS200 and stock in general seems to suck worldwide.
Just wandering what the differences are between the 200 and the 200E (Europe). Will the 200E work better due to 800Mhz being open like an AU model?
Are their any other considerations apart from the SDS200 audio bugs that seem to plague 1/5 units according to the reviews?
Cheers,
Ash

Ash,
I have never used a 200, however I do have a 200E. It has none of the reported issues that the 200 seems to have suffered (by some users). It works perfectly just like the USDS100.

Re: SDS200 vs SDS200E
Cheers Wonky,
That's reassuring to know. Now to track one down from a trusted source!
Please let me know if you have any suggestions on where to get one. Radio Warehouse in the UK and WaveInn all seem to get a bad rap.
Might stick with eBay and pay the extra as at least then there's some form of buyer coverage.
Thanks,
Ash

The 200E also comes standard with DMR and NXDN. The 200 you will need to purchase them separately.
Factor that in too when looking at cost.
I did a comparison list up a couple of years back on this site. It hasn’t been updated in a while, but the 200 info should still be current.

There was an individual (can’t remember if he was a member here or not??) who was importing the 200E, replacing the EU power pack with an AU power pack, and selling them locally. Not sure if they still do it, but they did have stock on eBay AU.

Re: SDS200 vs SDS200E
The only SDS200E I can see for sale on eBay at the moment is out of the UK for AU$1,539.92
The only Aussie seller that mentions the 200E is just selling SD card updates for various GRNs.

Re: SDS200 vs SDS200E
Cheers all for your wealth of knowledge.
I ordered a new SDS200E from Nevada radio out of the UK lastnight for AU$1,347 after PayPal conversion inc shipping via FedEx (They charge £50 for FedEx shipping to Australia). They’ve already shipped it and I should have it within a week.

I’d dare say they are one of the more reputable and cheaper sources for these at the moment if you’re having to order from overseas. Pretty impressed they shipped same day too.

Re: SDS200 vs SDS200E
While we're on the subject, is there any way to 'remote' the display for the SDS200E?
Controls would be a bonus but mainly I just don't have room to mount it somewhere it can be seen.
