Re: Paid Council Beach Life Guards
Randwick City Council has been updated on the ACMA over the last couple of weeks and seem to be moving away from their previous use of rental comms
494.6125 Duplex 50w Tx Clovelly
509.6750 Simplex 5w Ambulatory - NSW Wide
509.9375 Simplex 5w Tx Maroubra Beach
Relevant link
http://www.randwick.nsw.gov.au/Places_f ... index.aspx
I have snorkelled in Gordon's Bay (as well as Clovelly) and it is just a stoney beach about 3 metres wide - plus lots of big boulders on the sea floor and the "chain" which is used by the diving folk to navigate around to Clovelly. Not wishing to tempt fate i use a ankle shark shield with a trailing electrode cable to keep the buggers away.
There is overlap with the Sydney South SLSA clubs but who does what when - just refers to "seasonal lifeguards and surf patrols"

Grant
PS Is there a technical definition for "ambulatory" ?
If it exists on the ACMA site beyond referring to the term it is buried out of sight.
I was under the impression it means within the confines of a specified area.
