463.075Mhz CTCSS 167.9 - Unlisted ACMA = Liverpool Hospital

Post by cartman » Thu May 12, 2011 9:20 pm

Been trying to get my head around who i am hearing on 463.075Mhz with a CTCSS of 167.9
I am fairly positive it is covers a particular hospital's wardsman job allocation task
But who ??
All i can hear is the wardsmen (with numbers like "44, 49, 58, etc) carrying out hospital movements but i am mystified after checking the acma who it is and where they are.
Sounds like another one of those acma listings that are missing from the database.

Update
Found some notes from 21/1/11 which seems to suggest to me that it is clearly a hospital
The base operator has been heard in the past to broadcast fire alarm information as well
My gut feeling is that it is Liverpool Hospital, which has other frequencies on 463.475 and 463.900

Location confirmed
Just had it confirmed about 9.40pm tonight - wardsmen referred to Caroline Chisholm (centre) which is part of the Liverpool Hospital complex

Callsigns:
Base, 24,27,30,32,36,37,38,41,44,46,47,49,51,52,58,59,61,62,67,69,71,91,93,96
Code 1,8,10,11
Code 8 = "take a break"

Grant

PS Other users
110.9 CTCSS - appears to be Penrith Westfield - distant and scratchy from Blacktown
- there was a fire alarm at the time i heard them around 9pm tonight
218.1 CTCSS - Sydney Olympic Park Authority - Homebush Bay
Sydney Olympic Park (SOPA) could be heard discussing the athletic track preparations

yep and as the gcio/nsw govt/acma start not offering frequency renewal's to hospitals trying to get them onto the grn you will see alot more hospitals running their radio sites unlicensed.

I had cause to send an email about my former employer who had all of their hospitals running unlicensed to the acma, and within 2 weeks magically all of the hospitals became licensed again for another year...

Sorry, it has nothing to do with the GRN at all. Rather than posting here do what I did... threaten to go to ACMA or ICAC to force agencies to comply with the law that you & I have to. My boss knows how I feel- I can't go on to the Amateur bands without a licence so I pay my money each year. I strongly resent agencies & their contractors being allowed to break the law- so start kicking up a fuss. I know I have. I know of a company that is getting a lot of money from government (and it isn't Motorola...) that is operating national networks that are almost entirely unlicenced- have been since April 2010.

Cheers,

Richard

The problem with the acma database that the public sees is that has gained a certain reputation for frequencies to appear and disappear from time to time
For all i know this (463.075 167.9) could be a valid licensed user but for some clerical stuffup we don't see it online
468.4000 is a good example .... for a long time it was deleted despite the NSW Police Channel Alpha booming in

Just as an aside I had a minor operation last friday at Westmead Private Hospital (Ramsay Health Group).
This is not Westmead Public Hospital but across the road down the Hill for those who know the area
The wards people were wearing and using what appeared to be possibly 1w UHFCB to communicate and transport patients from the preparation area into the operating theatres
So never assume there is no comms when the ACMA says nothing
It maybe CB or rental or just chancing their arm

I am back at Westmead Private again
Had a fairly significant operation myself last Thursday (total left knee replacement) so now that I have some limited movement around my room i will see if i can get the CB frequency off my 246 on close call for the theatre preparation wardsmen running around here on Monday
There are nine (9) operating theatres
Off to Westmead Rehab Hosptal later in the week
The one good thing about the operation is that it takes lots of time to get better - approx 3mths - ie heaps of opportunities to scan
