It's Blue Mountains actually but there is a lot of aviation work happening on there at the moment :!:

They also use a pile more, the lowband VHF radios(Simoco SRM 9030) used in the fire aircraft in NSW have nearly 900 channels programmed in them. About half of that is Queensland Fire though.

For Lowband Fire in NSW, Check Forestry Commission,Dept of Environment Climate change and Water, ACT Emergency Services Agency, Sydney Catchment Authority, NSW Rural Fire Service, NSW VRA and NSW Police. these freqs can all be used

Ok, no problem, Maybe I was not clear enough, I was stating exactly what is programmed in the current codeplug in the Aircraft used for fire fighting/fire surveillance in NSW. Up to you what you want to doubt or not, I'm just giving some direction into what freq's are able to be accessed and used. (hint: This is straight from the Current "RFS NPWS-PARKS V1.1 codeplug", if you have access to a radio, press the down button on your srm9030 and it will tell you what the current version in that radio is, you will know what i'm talking about ;))

Not 100% positive that it was, but heard what sounded like the NPWS on the GRN on Saturday afternoon calling back to base, did not get the TG thou – was driving at the time.

Callsigns were “Parks 22” etc calling “Parks Base”, about 6 units calling back at their various bases and off air.

If you look at the most recent Region East.pdf file thats on myrfs it has UHF PMR, Fire Ground and Mid Band

Mid Band

001-475 - QFRS ( Rural ) Fire Ground Channels
501-600 - Dept Environment and Conversation - NPWS
601-699 - Dept Primary Industries - Forrests NSW
801-895 - ACT Fire Service ( Rural ) PMR Channels
901-910 - NSWRFS VHF Aircraft Channels ( Strat Net )
951-956 - Sydney Catchment Authority ( SRA)
990-999 - NSW VRA

So going on that i'd say if there are police vhf channels programmed in its not official and probly a local arrangement

thats the same list that also appears in the RFS radio operation instructions printed this year for all the new radio's. i dunno where your getting your info from but there is no mention of NSW police channels for either the yellow SRM9022 (VHF Midband) or the Tait TM8254 VHF Midband radio in the book i have.
cheers
