Sydney Casino
Manage to get to Star City Casino the other day to have lunch at the Garden Buffet(all you can eat prawns) I took the 396 with a set of head phones and put it on close call and picked up 476.4250 DCS023. Great but you can not understand anything because it is scrambled. There are other freqs one could pick up but there was no way I was going in the gaming area with a scanner.

Re: Sydney Casino
So they're using CB channel 1... Perhaps with voice inversion? I thought Star City had their own LTR system.
Re: Sydney Casino
I think Cartman will know about the LTR trunk system, but i think it is no longer. I should have scan that system while I was there. I will have to go back and pick up the cleaners and the door man/woman Freqs.

Re: Sydney Casino
The LTR system is still used for general operations and security comms as far as I know, but I think the 476 frequency is used in the buffet for waiter/kitchen comms.pks wrote:So they're using CB channel 1... Perhaps with voice inversion? I thought Star City had their own LTR system.

Re: Sydney Casino
I guess they don't want people eavesdropping on their secret recipe, hence the scrambling
Re: Sydney Casino
the comms is between the mitre d' and the waiters/dirty plate pickerup-er.
The mitre d' greets you ask how many to the table you say 4 he/she gets on the portable Motorola "table for four table for four" Waiter replies "yeah" and put their hand up, you walk to that waiter and sit down.

I was aware they were probably using CB - i posted something about these radios 5 years ago on the TrunkscanAustralia yahoo group
Personally I wouldn't be game taking a scanning radio anywhere near the casino.
The radios I saw in the Garden City Buffet had a "Micro" brand on them ... Kenwood Micro I believe (the casino uses Kenwood as a rule)
The casino is still running 7 channel LTR but now on the following frequencies since 2008. Same functions - just new frequencies.
LCN 01 470.7250
LCN 02 473.0500 Entertainment
LCN 03 473.3500 Security
LCN 04 473.9000
LCN 05 474.3750
LCN 06 486.7250 Gaming
LCN 07 487.0750

Re: Sydney Casino
grant,
unless i'm mistaken there isn't much the casion staff can do if you take a scanner into there, as with any decent radio system if they have something they do not want people to hear encrypt it or put some form of voice inversion onto it
