Yes, the International guys are still using 800mhz Analog radios, however, i have seen some of the engineering guys with tetra portables.

Was wondering if QANTAS were still using their 800 moto system.One of the few analogue trunking systems still in use.
Is the 800 MOTO analogue trunking system off the Mecure Hotel at the airport still in operation?
Unfortunately I can't hear these two systems from my home base.

Did 2hrs of scanning at the airport last saturday.Sitting under the control tower gave my Icom IC-R20 to much RF swamping.Seemed to get interference from a data link like ACARS when scanning the airband. Came across a lot of Moto turbo & NXDN signals. Could not pickup the 800mhz analogue trunk system off the Mecure Hotel so I think it's turned off. QANTAS 800mhz analogue trunking sytem still going well with a few talkgroups active.

The control channel appears for about 60 seconds, then drops off the air for a short period of time. There is no activity on it when its up. All users are now using Motorola MTP3250 portables (TETRA)

I think the system has been turned off now... there is no buzzing control channel it would appear.
